General information here, your own plan in the chair.
What the treatment pages, prices, photos and stories on this site can and can't tell you, and where to go when you need medical help now.
Example text for the Facework template, written for Facework Aesthetics, an invented nurse-led med spa in Austin, Texas. It is a starting point, not legal or medical advice: have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer, and checked against your medical director, your state’s rules, your insurer and the tools you use, before you publish.
1. Not medical advice
Everything on this website is general information about aesthetic treatments: neuromodulators, dermal fillers, laser resurfacing and skin treatments. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan or advice about your own face or health, and reading it does not make you a patient of Facework Aesthetics.
2. A consultation comes first
Every treatment starts with an in-person consultation with a licensed nurse or nurse practitioner, under the supervision of our physician. We review your medical history, medicines, allergies and past treatments, examine your skin and agree a plan with you before anything is done.
You will be asked to give accurate, complete information and to sign an informed consent for each treatment. We may decline or postpone a treatment if it isn’t safe or suitable for you.
3. Results vary
Faces, skin and lifestyles differ. How you respond, how soon you see a change and how long it lasts depend on you, the product, the dose and your after-care. Nobody can promise a particular result, and we don’t.
Durations such as “lasts 3–4 months” or “visible in 14 days” describe a typical range, not a guaranteed outcome.
4. Sample prices, durations and photos
Prices, chair times, recovery times and timelines on this site are examples, marked as samples. Your own plan and price are confirmed at your consultation.
Photos marked “Sample” are illustrations and do not show the results of a particular patient. Real patient photos, where a practice shows them, are published only with that patient’s written consent, and they show one person’s result, not what yours will be.
5. Side effects and risks
Every treatment has risks. Common ones include redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising. Neuromodulators can occasionally cause a heavy brow or eyelid for a few weeks. Fillers carry a rare but serious risk of blocking a blood vessel. Laser treatments can cause burns, scarring or changes in skin color, especially without the right after-care.
Your nurse explains the risks of your own treatment before you consent, and what to watch for afterwards.
6. When a treatment may need to wait
Some treatments are postponed or not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection or cold sore in the area, after recent use of some acne medicines, or with certain medical conditions and medicines. Tell us about all of them at your consultation, even if they seem unrelated.
7. In an emergency, call 911
This website, the Ask a nurse form and our email are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
After a treatment, call 911 or go to an emergency room right away for trouble breathing, swallowing or speaking, signs of a severe allergic reaction, any change in your vision, or severe pain with skin that turns white, gray, blue or blotchy. For other concerns after a treatment, call the practice using the after-care instructions you were given.
8. Your doctor comes first
Aesthetic treatments do not replace your own doctor. Don’t stop, start or change a prescribed medicine because of something you read here, and see your doctor about new or changing spots, moles or skin symptoms.
9. Stories and reviews
Stories and reviews on this site describe one person’s own experience and are shared with their permission. They are not evidence that the same treatment will work the same way for you.
