How it works
The laser makes thousands of microscopic heat columns in the skin and leaves the skin around them untouched, so it can repair from the edges. Neck skin is thinner than facial skin, so we use gentler settings and plan a series of 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart. The price shown is per session. Results vary.
What the day looks like
Numbing cream for 30 minutes, then about 20 minutes under the laser with eye protection. The neck feels like a sunburn that evening, then turns pink and rough for 4 to 5 days. A scarf or a high collar helps.
Aftercare
A plain moisturizer and mineral sunscreen every morning, no exfoliants or retinoids for a week, and no direct sun on the neck for two weeks. In a Texas summer, that means an early or late walk, not noon.
Who it’s not for
Not on a fresh tan, within 6 months of isotretinoin, with a history of keloid scars, or during pregnancy. Some medications make skin sensitive to light: list everything you take at the consult.
